We did not take the train but the more I learn about it, the most I wish we would have. What a neat experience this could have been for the kids! Amtrak operates the “Sunset Limited” train service, which connects these two cities. The train departs from Houston’s Amtrak station, located downtown near Minute Maid Park, and arrives at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal, conveniently situated in the heart of downtown New Orleans.
